According to Anthony Slater of The Athletic, the Golden State Warriors are not currently prepared to offer Jonathan Kuminga a maximum contract extension valued at $224 million over five years, or any deal nearing that amount.
Despite Kuminga’s potential to elevate his value, his relatively short track record and potential fit issues with the team lead the Warriors to prefer allowing his restricted free agency to unfold if they cannot finalize an extension.
