Chelsea are on the verge of signing Romeo Lavia from Southampton in the summer transfer window, according to Fabrizio Romano. The Italian journalist has reported on Twitter that Premier League club Chelsea have agreed a fee with Championship outfit Southampton for Lavia.
Romano has added that Chelsea will pay Southampton a fee just short of £60 million plus add-ons for Lavia. The Belgium international defensive midfielder has already agreed to move to the former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners. The 19-year-old will undergo medical tests with Chelsea this week.

Lavia joined Southampton from Manchester City in the summer of 2022. The teenager made 26 starts and three substitute appearances in the Premier League for the Saints last season. Lavia scored one goal in those matches. Southampton are playing in the Championship this season after getting relegated from the Premier League. Chelsea are aiming to finish in the top four of the Premier League table this season.
